Chatfield Ice Update

Anyone been out to chatfield yesterday or today?

Wondering if a guy could fish north of the roadbed?

I called Bob Hix at his tackle shop and he siad there is a foot of ice all over chatfield.

Can anyone confirm this?

I fished about 100 yds. North of that rocky point just West of the Marina yesterday, 2/11 and didn't find any ice over 5 or 6 inches thick. The ice wasn't bad, it just wasn't a foot thick. <'))<

Yea- 5" to 6"...i got on the roadbed saturday, it was easy to see before this latest storm, then one of my auger blades fell off. Got a few good football shad stuffed bows on minnows in the middle of the afternoon off of the handicap area in toward the marina. Judging by the size of the 3" shad in the rainbows belly, I might suggest using LARGE spoons and tubes

Try the biggest jigging Raps they make or the biggest jiggig shad they make. Blades even work sometimes.
