Gonna break out my Flyrod!!

The temperature is so darn nice, I'm think'n about breaking out my flyrod!!! Should I be a TRUE ice fisherman and resist this urge at all cost while there is still melting ice to walk out on??? Maybe if I compromise and drift a rat-finkie and meal worm down the stream!!! HA HA!! Tim

Go with the urge thats what I'd do, besides variety is the spice of life. I did like the Rat-Finkie and mealy idea

Hiked down to the Colorado River inlet to Granby a few years ago in spring to toss some bait and try out a new Loomis 3-wt but the inlet had refroze and we used rocks to break open some old ice holes.I ice fished with my 7' spinning rod and 8-1/2' fly rod.It was a decent day-caught 8 or 9 fish on the flyrod through the hole,it was a trip standing so far away from the hole!
