Any reports from chatfield yet?

Just curious if anyone has heard anything from Chatfield, I hear it has good ice and this cold front can only improve it....I used to catch a fair share of eyes there, but that was later in the season.

thanks

Got skunked on New Years Day. Had one bite, but was jerkin around and missed it. We fished the pits straight out from the swim beach. 7 inches of ice that day.

How do you catch those walleyes there through the ice?

I was catching them with a nils-master and a jigging rapala, and did a series of jigs for about 10-20 seconds then stopped and "HELD-ON", almost 90% of the eyes struck as the nils was just finished it's sequence, if not I watch the sonar and tried to beat the fish off the bottom having him chase upward especially when they strike but refuse to take the lure, this usually works, and of course plenty of Preperation H, I will have to give the story behind that later after I get off work.

I went to Chatfield yesterday. Fished from 3-6 pm. One small trout while trying for Walleye. Fishing in 14-18 feet along the river channel. Nothing much showed up on the Vexilar until after dark, then lots of flashes between 1 and 3 feet off the bottom. Nothing would hit either a minnow or worm. Agressive jigging brought them in for a look , but no takers. Anyone finding walleye at Chatfield this winter?
