Hey Ken,
2' plus ice here on Vermilion now!
6 of us hit High Lake on the trout opener and we caught around 40 trout, mostly splake.
Our biggest was 20-1/2". Deanno and I hit Bass later in the afternoon that day and caught 40 or more crappies plus a few sunnies. We kept our limit of 20. The largest was around 13". A big crappie for Bass! Too cold to move around so we set the portable up and atayed put. 38 below in Tower this morning!

Wow--- That sounds like FUN FUN FUN!

Bob was telling me about the High lake/Bass Lake combo deal. He said you guys had done it once before and that it was a blast. I'd like to try that sometime!

Well the goo dnews is that we have some fishable ice in IL now. Certainly don't have 2 feet though! I bought an extension for my strikemaster at L&M- they're hard to find and good to have in MN. SO, I'm ready for anything, as soon as I get my snow machine back from Harold's!
