Woodhaven Lakes

Recommended Posts

I know it is a private summer community, so there is not a big following on the 'net, but I need some more info. 'cause I'm hooked on fishing these waters after the day my son had yesterday.

We were on Black Oak in the middle of the day using nightcrawlers (about 1/3 of the crawler) under some slip bobbers near shore.
My son pulls in a crappie, than another crappie, then a 16" catfish, I lose a crappie, but then I pull in a 18" catfish.
After awhile, we move to the other side of the lake and my son catches another crappie and a big bluegill. So far, I've got the biggest but he has more in the boat. Then he drops a bobber into the slop by accident, and it immediately disappears. He comes up with a 17"/3 lb. Largemouth and takes full honors for the day. All I can say to him is that he was "on fire". It was a great day of fishing instead of just a good day.

Anyway, I'm interested in ideas from others on the remaining lakes at Woodhaven. Anybody prefer Bass Lake and know any spots to try? Anyone like Woodhaven and can share an idea or two? How about Pine, Sunset, Hidden, or Bluegill Lakes?

Can't wait to hear back from you.

Gene
