How did everyone do today? I went out all day the wind was a pain to deal with today and the snow. I managed to find a good spot though with good vegitation and ended up with a dozen nice 11-13 inch perch they were great. I talked to guy that sayed he had tried brushy and did alright. Anyone else try brushy or beeds? Well I hope everyone had a safe and enjoyable day on the ice I know I did. Get back to me on How you did?

Thanks,
Dan

Welp, due to threats of 30mph+ winds, I changed my original plans of a trip to 3Mile and headed closer to home instead. Fished Easter Lake all day with my dad....from about 8:00a-6:45p. Caught exactly 100 bluegill (would have had many more, but ran out of waxies and had to turn to alternative methods), 10crappie, 4bass, and one small channel cat. Biggest gills were around 8inches, biggest crappie was a 11 1/2" white, and two of the bass were 2lbs. A lot of fun, despite the wind and the cold!!! Will be on Big Creek all day tomorrow!!!

sunday's fishing report.... Got on the ice at Big Creek around 10:45a. Drilled some holes and found my structure, dropped down a teardrop and waxie and withing 20 seconds "BOOM", 11 1/2" crappie....it was all downhill from there. I didnt get another bite until 2pm, and didnt get another fish until 6:10pm. At that time the crappie moved in and caught 8 (all 8-9" or so) before the walleye started. Got some of them in the 12" range and then they stopped...left at 7:30p. Very slow and saw very few fish through the day until 6:10p when the crappie moved in. They bit soft all day. Not much of a report I guess, but am headed back out tomorrow morning to try it again before work!!

Fished BIg Creek this morning, 7a-11a (had to be at work or I would have stayed!!) Started out in deeper water with big jigs, trying to spook up some eyes but no luck there. Ended up moving to brush on the west shore in 15ft...got 12 gills, all were 8" or so but one little dink. Got them on a single waxie on a tiny horizontal jig deadsticked under a bobber. Sight fished for their bites and they were SOFT!!! Barely nibbled/sucked on the end of the worms for the most part....this weather sure has them off. Did ok though and the weather was great!! Heading out tomorrow morning to drive on the lake before that warm weather hits too hard!!!

Ok, fished Big Creek again this morning....fished a little deeper looking for legal sized eyes. FOund small eyes and crappie....crappie came in around 20ft down over 35ft of water. They were pretty agreeable too, just raised my jigging rapala w/minnow head up to them and jiggled a little and they hit well. I drove my truck on there for the last time this year...how sad.

Thanks Smoker Craft. I'm going over thursday. from around 3-8pm or so. trying to decide wether to fish the mid section of the lake, head up north closer to the inlet area or some areas around the dam that I wanted to try this winter but haven't. Let me know how ya did tonight. - Jeff

well I had some well trouble when I got home tuesday night so did not post till to night. We caught some crappies not a large amount. still used a jig and minnow. If you have a brushy map we fished over the hill from horse camp ground drove in from the west ramp. Those places you mentioned all sound good to me to. I did heare of some walleyes being cought from the dam area did not witness it my self so can not tell you any direct location... Good luck

Smokercraft - We fished the northwest side of Taylor island tonight, were the two coves meet and a ways up the east cove. 1 crappie was it. I didn't see any fish on my flasher but hard to tell as the timber is exceptionally thick in places. I instantly lost jigs in 6 of the first 8 holes I fished. Like fishing in a 30ft. pile bed springs. also tried further south, about straight west of the taylor boat ramp, a couple hundred yards north of the dam east end. There were 8-10 anglers scattered around in the lower third of the lake. I have more confidence in the middle third of the lake right now. Do you know anybody who has fished the upper end recently? The creek had some water flowing in today... maybe warmer water up there, west of the north boat ramp. Has anybody here tried that area??
