Finally Ice in Alaska

Looks like I might have ice by the first of the week. Guide friend in Alaska has been having the same problems we have. No winter. Thought you guys might get a kick out of his email.

"Winter got here, even got some ice. Brett and i went after ice fishes. Walked into ''Nest Lake''. 8 inches of snow now. Was more ice than we thought, 7 inches or so. Caught 5 nice rainbows of 19-20 inches [theses were the ''keepers for smokehouse''] no big ones came out on ice. Did catch 25-30 others in smaller size, also some kokanee [landlocked salmon] only 3 of them big enough to be considered supper invites. Wish could catch more of that size, they real tasty . Temps down to -10 at nite now, more like wintertime temps. Even wore bunny boots to store today.

Guy was perty anxious to put plane runway on lake last week, now we got ''structure'' to fish around - 2001 ford/plow in 10 feet water. Guess he never heard of test holes. Wheeeee, guess he has one now. Sure glad he got job of gettin it out of there. Hope you had good new year. Hey tryed to get some M-D 20/20 for guys at work. Lousey liquor store didn't carry it, world has gone to pot !!!! Keep them crappie on their noses. Mooseleggs"
