Got everything packed and ready to go. Going to look at Hickory Hills south of Waterloo, then on to Pine Lake. Keep you posted.

I don't think Pine is ready yet.
Be careful specially that upper part.
I got out today on a shallow slough
Got 8 nice perch 3 12"ers Suprise Suprise
Didn't think there were any around that big.
It was a real pain trying to fish through the little eagle weiners.
But at least I was on the ice.

Mr.Marmooska, Where is Pine lake?How was hickory much ice on it?How about George Wyth any ice on it safe?I had real good luck on crappies there last year. I never fished the other would like to try then.

didn't make it to Pine Lake, found good ice and fish at Hickory Hills. Pine Lake is a state park north and east of Eldora. It has two lakes upper and lower pine. Looked at George Wythe today, wierd looking ice so I moved on to another local pond and did well. All in all a very good opening weekend, over 100 fish. Not all keepers, but a couple of good meals.
