Shallow area ice forming

Here in Southern Wisconsin we are finally getting some ice is the shallow ponds and protected bays.  It feels great to be ice fishing again, even though the areas are very limited.  Please!  Be very cautious and sensible.

And then there was this little northern, who spooled me down to the arbor knot.  I only had around 25 feet of 2lb. mono on so I had to gain some back fast!  It was hooked inside the mouth, so luck was involved.
