Wondering if anyone has experience ice fishing little or big Bay de noc? Working in the area and need to get out fishing. I have my portable and snowmobile so getting around should be easy.

If someone can help me out that would be great.

Big Bay de Noc is a treasure and there are actually two bays within Big Bay, Nahma Bay holds some monster pike on weedbeds in 12 to 14 fow, while Ogontz Bay has huge smallmouth (6+lb sized), pike, perch, bluegill and crappie in its vast weedbeds along the western shore. Fish back from the island toward the northern shore. Why do they not fish it, because Little Bay gets all the attention during the warm water months, and all the ice fishing pressure during the winter.

One thing I will say about Big Bay is that becareful, although there is a 40 ft area west of Garden Peninsula and out in front of Nahma, a wind shift out of the North and send the ice moving.

My cabin is 30 min north of BB, and have been fishing it since I was 4 yrs old. Watching my dad and uncles come back to the camp with 40+ northerns is where I gained my passion for fishing, my heaven on earth!
