ski_otter
I borrowed a friends vex to take a couple other friends fishing and he said it had wiring issues. Threw it on the charger and nothing, wouldn't turn on, so I figured bad connector and cut em off and put new ones on. Any way turned out battery was junk, but this one had one of the earlier round chargers, and its 2 black wires, one with writing, which one is the positive? ( I'm guessing the one with writing but don't know how to tell) I tried to compare with my fl22 but it has a red wire
Jim Kusuda
Generally you can check the output of a battery charger with a DC voltmeter. If the red(+) and black(-) meter leads are hooked up to the plugged in charger, and the reading is positive 13v or so, the wire on the red lead is positive. If the reading is negative 13v or so, meter is hooked up wrong, so switch the leads so the reading is positive and once again the red meter lead indicates the positive. I assume the connector is the round one from the V-410 charger. My meter leads are too big to probe the actual connector, so plug in the female connector and probe the ends of the output wires.
