I fished waubay lake last Saturday August 7th. It was pretty slow for walleyes, considering it was Waubay. The 2 of us caught 7 walleyes in three hours. That is terribly slow for Waubay. They were all typical Waubay size 13.5" to 14.5". Used Jigs and minnows. The other anglers at the landing area were reporting similar luck. The lake is essentially covered with an Algae type moss, that I am told somehow reduces fishing success on the lake. I also had the good fortune to hit a submerged tree in 20 feet of water which broke of my bootom skeg and damaged my prop. I should have stayed in Minnesota to fish. Anyway, good luck to you, the guy in the Grenville bait shop was reporting that some decent perch were being taken, but they were difficult to locate and not very aggresive. Maybe the pike would be a good fish to target. Well good luck.
