Jared_P
I posted this in the Ice Fishing forum as well but thought maybe a Vexilar staffer could give me a hand if I posted it here. I went to take off the wires and hook up my DD100 and ran into this issue The original battery indicator is hard wired into the tri beam and head unit. How do you get around this with the tri beam ducer on my fl20? This set up is on a Pro Pack. I read you can cut it but will that be ok. Just checking before I ruin something to see if anyone else has any other things they have done...The only information that I have seen is more of a plug and play scenario. thanks and hope someone can give me some insight as to what route I should take. Bigtom
Yep you can cut it. I cut my wire about 2inches from the end and sodderd the dd100 to the 2inch wire. Or you can just use the piggyback spade connecter. And I also torn the pro pack apart and put it in a genz pack.
Jared_P
ok...I was thinking I would just cut the ends and connect with a wire clip/nut so I could still use the piggy back from the light I have on there. I just get a little leery when it comes to some mods like wiring. JP
Jared_P
Just spliced the DD100 into my pro pack and it works great. Thanks for the vote of confidence... JP
Bigtom
No problem, and you will like it. It works great, except on low power mode on the FL-22 I get a weird reading.
Bob Hicks
I clipped my old FL20 power monitor at the spade and then used the DD-100 piggy-back spade and all seems to work fine at the house. I haven't been out yet, but its getting real close here in Utah.
