axelman
I worked at taking the chuck off my Rigid Fuego 18v some more tonight, and have tried pretty much every trick in the book to crack it free without any luck. I am pretty sure Rigid didn't intend for anyone to be getting their chucks off on their own. I would rather not bother with it any more and wreck the drill in the process, so I think I will be going to Home Depot tomorrow and picking up the Dewalt 20v max. I really wish that the Rigid chuck would pop off though because I like the idea of their lifetime warranty, even on the batteries!
mtheis
Because of the problems you have had with your Ridgid drill, I think I am going to a dealer who repairs these things, and have them try. Thanks for the heads up!

SkiSoloII
I took the chuck off my new Rigid drill just fine. LH thread on the screw, normal unscrewing for the chuck itself using a hex wrench. Came with 2 drills (including a driver), two 3ah batteries, one 4ah battery. My plate is supposed to be here by Wednesday. Must have gotten the last part of available stock from Bass Pro.
