Matt Johnson
Ice Team Pro, Matt Breuer writes... The ice belt is loaded with anglers who love nothing more than sitting on the ice, waiting for a bite. Every winter while talking to said anglers, I hear complaints about “junk fish” ruining their trips. Walleye fishermen who complain about burbot, perch fishermen who complain about tullibees, and crappie fishermen who are upset because they only caught giant lake whitefish. I’ll let you all in on a secret... I’d rather tussle with the “junk fish” mentioned than the targeted species any day of the week... Read the entire article... Targeting Junk Fish - CLICK HERE Enjoy! pushbutton
Yeah....Matt B is kind of weird Great article and can't agree enough. Every year care less and less of chasing the the mighty eyeball ...they fight like a wet sock. A 10 lb pout, on the other hand, is simply a blast. Love the tullies too. When on an hot bite, the flasher darn near turns into a video game, with those crazy buggers doing somersaults, backflips, and chasing your bait up and down 10 feet or so. Have only ever caught one, not on purpose, but if one could ever figure out how to target some of those monster carp on the ice.....I would no doubt be all over that! dairyman
yep---just got back from fishing "Tullies" and it is fun. There are not to many species that you can go out on the lake at 8 am and come back in at 12 noon and still have caught some fish.......... fun times
