Jason Hamilton
Augers with extensions! While you don't need them everywhere yet, about 50% of my spots yesterday called for them. Travel on the lake is rough going for trucks, sleds and other tracked vehicles are the way to go now. Snow is deep and the constant winds are drifting it up badly. Fish are finicky right now as well, yesterday, small lindy darters and salmo zippers tipped with a live minnow were the trick. They still want some rattle but that live minnow sealed the deal. Jason Hamilton
A happy guest (happy she had Ice Armor!) it was chilly out there. No fishing today. Its -45c and it stops being fun around there. Back at it tomorrow through Tuesday. Tune into the audio reports on www.iceteam.com for some updated info from this weekend. Jason Hamilton
Think shallow out there right now folks. Been on a smoking bite in 5 to 8 fow...all day long. This is where a 10" hole really outshines the 8", pulling big fish up 36" or more of ice in shallow water. Really have to hold the fish and let him headshake until the you can line things up...other wise you are hooked onto a trophy sized piece of ice. Myrt
We had a decent bite mid January in 12-14ft, 32in was the only master, but what an awesome fish!!! Heading up again Feb 26, can't wait. Hope it is somewhat warmer than first trip(neg 22f last night when we rolled in)., Thermal X, 4000T, and a Canvas Craft Double Flip kept us all more than warm...very satisfied with all products. Thanks for the reports!
