My 3 year old is super excited to get out. I got him on the ice once last year when he was 2. Were going to hit it hard this year. I'm more excited than he is. Wife says I've created a monster!

Good for you Jeff, Jason, and to all that take the time to get the little ones outdoors!!! It can make for a long day and you won't get to fish that much, but as Mike points out, that smile makes it all worth while. After my kiddlet saw the snow today he asked if it was time to go ice fishing yet. Told him it will be a little while yet, at which point he asked if we could put up the portable in the living room and sleep in it tonight

One of my favorite memories of him and I on the ice was a few years back when I was outside doing some banking, and upon coming back inside, found both minnow buckets dumped out, the dog eating whatever did not swim away, and him playing the drums on said buckets with my stealthy shallow water low light low noise approach ......not as effective
