Tony you will love them. We were fishing in 3 ft of water and the majority of the BIG gills wouldn't come under the house so bouncing hole to hole worked out great. One good thing is that its just long enough to get away so they don't see you and also short enough so you can still peak down your hole. I also love the action that I can get.

I have to echo Kevan. I have a 36 inch rod rigged with a spring that I use on days with clear ice and bright skies in Okoboji. I fish there almost every weekend and you have to be prepared for all kinds of conditions. Im a big fan of the JM 20 inch meatstick and will have to add the 48 to my arsenol.
