Brant Lake

might go out to Brant this weekned and was wondering if the ice is safe enough to drive on. I heard that there was open water on the west end? Is this true? Also are the little walleye still bitting?

I was there on Saturday. There is open water on the northwest side of the lake by the inlet. Also open water by the rock pile. I saw a truck that had fell in the lake. Didn't go all the way down. They were lucky.

Ice was 16 inches thick, but the shore on the west end is pretty shacky from all the sand and mud pulled on to the ice from the vechiles.

People were driving all over on the east end of the lake. Must have been 10 trucks in one spot.

All I caught was 5 little walleyes. I only fished till 6pm because of the 30= mph winds. It was better bite after the sun went down the last time I was there.
