Guest
I am going to be fishing Lake Sharpe for walleye at the end of April and was wondering if I could get a few tips? Thanks for the help!
ifishsd
Which end of Sharpe will help out alot? If below the dam at Pierre, I would fish the Bridges with a jig and minnow. Also Farm island is a good spot in the spring
jr712
Which "end" of Sharpe are you planning on fishing? (Where are you staying?).Lake Sharpe walleyes will be more concentrated in the upper third of the lake in 2nd half of April as the fish will be in spawn or just finishing. Not all fish make this migration and some fish will be available in the lower third of the lake but if you are staying in that area you would be better off fishing the upper end of Case, the first few miles below Big Bend dam at Ft. Thompson. We have made annual Easter trips out there the last few years and have had good success. The sunset and early nighttime shore angling below the dam in certain backwater areas can be great and is largely ignored except for the locals.
