How has the lake been for fishing this year? I am think about making the venture over. WHat would the best place on the lake to get geared up at?

Hear is the report I found:

Kampeska -- "We had a fabulous fishing tournament last Saturday (December 28). A 3.5 pound walleye was the biggest of over 125 that we weighed in. Almost all the walleyes were in the 2 pound class with some up to 2.7 and 2.89 pounds besides the 3.5 winner. The biggest fish caught was a 17.8 pound northern and a crappie just under a pound was caught. There were over 300 fishermen in the one day tourney. We have 6.8 inches of ice so that made for a safe tourney. An 11.12 pound walleye was caught the night before the tournament," said Doris Wilke at Kampeska Lodge & Marine.
