PinPoint motors/Finders

Has anyone used the Pinpoint system? What can you tell about how it really works. I have a friend who giving me a sx 270 and I want to know if I should by the finder for it. If so, which one?

If you are only going to use the graph off the pinpoint motor just get a "00" unit(7200,7500,7800) If you ever want to use the graph with a transom mounted transducer as well you need to use a unit that ends in 20(7220.7520,7820). They are all good units and it just depends on what size of screen you need.
