acarroline
I have a Clam Explorer (like X2, Scheels exclusive) and have a few questions on modifications. I am looking to add some versatility without adding a ton of weight, and want these feature to be able to come off easily for transport. So far I have used a few eye bolts to secure rod holders for each seat. Low rent, nice feature. Remove rod holders and eye bolts are on but not in the way. I would like to do the following, and am looking for ideas: 1. Secure the Clam center console between the seats. This is a great tool, but slides around and isn't very sturdy. Thinking about a few screws in the front directly in the lip, but that is more permanent than I may want. A few clamps up front in that area? Velcro? 2. Looking to secure a ice scoop/dipper in between the seats up front. I'm thinking about just cutting a hole in the "lip" of the shack and allowing the handle end of the scoop to rest in there. Could cut a few more small slits in the lip (about 2 inches long, 1/2 inch wide) along that lip for the common slip on bucket rod holders and use those to secure extra rods/scoops,etc. Thoughts?
