Swapping FL-18 for FLX-28 Head Unit

I currently have an FL-18 equipped with the Genz pack and have had no big problems with it besides it being quite loud. Am curious if it would be worth to just buy the FLX-28 head unit only and put it in place of the FL-18 head unit? Would everything work with the transducer and power cable hook ups? I have a 12 degree transducer on my FL-18.
