Vermilion Falls Park

I know this might not be the most appropriate place to post this, but it seems to be the most active forum and I am looking to fish for white bass. White bass seem to be a difficult species to target in Minnesota, save for certain spots on the St. Croix and Mississippi early in the year. I have heard however that many people have luck on the Vermilion River particularly in the summer.

 

Has anyone fished or know if Vermilion River Park in Hastings is a fishable area? There seems to be far and few public places to fish this river. I'll be fishing from shore and I'm not opposed to walking off the beaten path. Thanks!

I've seen people fish there before, but I can't imagine they catch much. With the water fall there, the current goes through there pretty good. Best bet are the public accesses. I'm guessing the water is pretty low right now, so you can explore for miles, although it's extremely muddy. I've caught just about everything that swims from shore on the vermillion. Although it gets WAY more shore fishing pressure now than even a few years ago.
