Coldwater Crappie Guy
I have a new Ice Castle ice house. Last weekend I was up at Red lake and I have the 9 inch sleeves, the top of them were about 4 inches too tall.My question is should I not drop my house down all of the way to make sure they can block off any wind that could come up the sides?? There was no snow so I couldnt bank up the house sides.. and if I went with 4 inch hole sleeves and drop the frame all the way to the ice would that be the best way to go? clownshack
Just cut them down. Drop the shack, measure, and cut on tablesaw. I cut an inch short and shove them into the slush from drilling
Boar
cut them down. drill your holes, remove some of the slusg, not all, drop the houe down on the remain slush, and in sert your sleeves. the sleeves are primarily ment to keep cold air from coming up from the fram area of the house. if the sleeves dont actually meet the ice but seat into the slush they are doing thier job.
