Plastic baits

I always read about people using texas rigs and carolina rigs but i have never used one. What do you need for the set up? What kind of plastic baits do you use, size color, weight?

Thank you for any help.

i prefer to Texas rig. i have just started to used brass bullet sinkers. i also have started to use a red bead, on some occasions, in between the sinker and the hook. it really add a lot of extra noise, which seems to help on the river where the water color is darker. the size of the hook i used depends on what plastic i will use, 3/0, 4/0, or 5/0. i mostly like to fish tubes and worms Texas rigged, but have also fished creature baits. colors will depend on conditions, but i find myself mostly using green pumpkin or white when fishing tubes and blues and black when fishing worms. the brand that i like the most for worms are YUM because they seem to hold up well but mostly because of the LPT (live prey technology) scents. however i also like the terminator and strike king "super plastic" kind of baits.. i am starting to experiment with Carolina rigging this year for the first time and i have found that the "superplastics", because of their flotation properties, work the best for me.

there are just a few ideas....
