JayDeHay
I bought this auger from Pawn America this summer. It was marked down to $50 because they couldn't get it running, so I just picked it up to use the drill with my electric. I've been toying with the power head to try to bring it back to life, but I'm not having much success. I've verified that it is getting spark and gas, but it just won't catch fire. I'm thinking it might be a compression problem, so I'd like to look for a rebuild kit from Tecumseh, but I want to verify I get the correct parts. I've looked for a serial number looker-upper-thing and I've even contacted Jiffy themselves with the serial number to no avail. I'm posting a pic of the serial number plate, let me know if you need more detailed photo's. Thanks in advance for any help!
CamozKool
Check with a Tecumseh repair shop, I think that's who used to make the Jiffy motor... but it looks like a model 30.... any idea how old it is...I had one that worked as you describe, it needed a new carb.... Good Luck..
JayDeHay
CamozKool: It is indeed a Tecumseh engine. Do you know where to find the Tecumseh serial number to identify the engine?
