The smallmouth bite here on Vermilion is just on fire now. Catching fish on tubes and Senko with fish on beds, docks, rocks, and rubble. If you are headed this way, give me a holler and I'll try to help you any way I can.

Doug,

I'm heading into snowbank this weekend. Are the smallies still up shallow, or starting to move deeper? I was planning on bringing camo and chartreuse tubes, any other colors or things you'd suggest? thanks! tinski

Tinski,

I was up on Snowbank a couple years ago - not sure if you go to the lake regularly, but there's a nice walleye bite in the evening on the long bar/reef in front of Smitty's lodge. You'll see the boats.

Also, the big northerns are on the rocky points and often follow the lure like a muskie.

Hey Tinski,
Green Pumpkin/Black Fleck is my confidence color for Vermilion. Also, don't forget Senco's. That is an excellent alternative choice but the tube is #1 right now here.

This weather is playing havok on this end with the brownies. Fish are up-then down. Onbeds then off. I just saw new beds on a bank that has had bedding fish for the last 15 days. Strange year.

There will be fish to catch, just look for the spawning areas. Key in on docks, walkways, rails from boat houses, ANY laydown on a gravel bank.
