My father-in-law in ND said a guy up there is making them. I'm going to check into that over the off season. I think that is the way to go - no rust and lighter weight. I'll let you know if I find anything out - might be a while before I make it back out there to have a look.

In addition to additional cost when building, I'd check into the oxidation of aluminum; and consider the drawbacks of possibly earlier age weakening of aluminum versus steel.
