Stick500
I was reading the fishing regs and I see on the Invasive list that a bunch of unnamed lakes and streams in Jackson County are listed as having Bigheads and Silvers. Has anyone in that area ever seen, caught or shot either type of fish?Oddly enough the Des Moines River (the primary river running thru the town) is not listed as having asian carp, but I'm pretty sure that river is infested with them down in Iowa. And I imagine the Des Moines is how those fish got into the lakes and streams up here in MN. Could have been thru the Iowa Great Lakes as well as I heard they were in there, too.Any info on the subject would be greatly appreciated. I'd take the long trip sometime if I could actually bowfish for something I could eat for the first time! Also, are there any dams on the Des Moines in that area?EDIT! Yikes! I forgot that this isn't Iowa. If I shoot a bighead or silver in MN, it's apparently illegal for me to take it anywhere except a DNR office. Oh well, maybe someday I'll be able to toss one in the frying pan....
