What's Going On Right Now?

Recommended Posts

What's the fishing like up there guys?? My group and I are heading up on Wednesday for the rest of the week, and we're hoping for a good trip! The guys I'm going with went up there last year, so they know they lake a little, but we're still fairly new. So any advice on what the fish are doing right now would be appreciated! Especially anything relating to big walleye or pike, and perch. They didn't get into any really big fish last year, and no perch at all. Any advice, from spots to tactics to tips will be appreciated! Thanks guys!

Just back from DL wed Oct 1st. No big fish. Most of time in 6 mile bay pulling cranks ( 13 - 15 ft ) and jig and minnow. Lots of 12 to 14 inch eyes and for every over 14 we caught 8 to 10 unders. Many people fished by the 6 mile bridge in current or edges and I saw some fish caught there - but we spent little time there due to boat traffic and our boat this trip did not have ipilot / spot lock anchor option. I only saw 1 perch verified - but it was a 13 inch dandy - no others heard of or even being caught.

A few northerns on cranks - one was 34 inch but most others were 18 to 25 ( about 2 a day ).

Everyone including bait shops say 12 to 15 inch eyes majority of fish this year - I thought we would run into a 8 lb'r for sure - but NOT!

Great trip for us and hope the wind lays down for you to venture out and enjoy your trip.

GL up there
