gogophers
I've got ice fishing on the brain already, and I am looking to see if anyone has a rattle reel set up for overnight fishing that allows you to reel the fish in with a rod and reel, like standard daytime fishing would? Smellson
Attach a clothespin to the line on your rattle wheel. Attach clothespin to your fishing rod line (I like to make sure I have a bobber stop on my rod setup so I have something to secure the clothespin to). When a fish bites just pinch the clothespin and reel up the slack line from the rod and set the hook!
walleye34
just take the line and make 2 wraps around the rattle reel and leave the bail open...works great! I use power pro and the rattle reels I use are plastic so wrap the rattle with cloth hockey tape so the line grabs the reel and turns it when the fish pulls. Kind of like putting backing on your reel first when you use superlines so the line does not just spin on the spool. when the fish hits just unwrap the 2 wraps and you can fight it with your normal pole.
