Carp on the fly

Hi, I am 13 and I am wondering if there are any small carp spots that i can go to to try and catch my first on a fly? I live in woodbury and I would only like to go about 20-30 minutes. These spots could be anything from dranage ditches to small streams, I just want to get my first carp on a fly,

Lake Elmo is a great carp lake do some internet research on good spots. its been 25 years since ive fished it.

in my experience carp on the fly are very difficult to catch unless they are actively surface gulping/feeding etc etc... even then sometimes it takes a hundred casts right in front of their faces before one takes... i have only seen this happening on river environments, but i'm sure it happens on some lakes.... if i knew more i'd tell ya, but i haven't fished much in twin cities are in recent history..
