Repairing damage from snow mold?

This lawn was new last year, and I am a little disappointed with how it is looking at this point as compared to last fall. I believe the large snowfall, and late snowfalls in my area somewhat play a part in this, and I assume these spots are from snow mold. The grass looked good last fall, but I have all these brown spots around the yard this year. Things are just starting to green up over this past week.

Will these spots fill in after snow mold or fungus did this, or will I have to go around with dirt/seed and get new grass going?

There were no dogs back here this past winter.

Since this lawn was new last year, should I put down a crab grass preventer or just fertilize again this spring. I did overseed some areas right before the first snowfall last spring. If I need to put down some dirt/seed now, I know I don't want to put down the grab grass preventer. I did not notice much in the way of crab grass growing last year in the lawn.....maybe around the edge of the yard in a few spots.

I would use a blower (preferably backpack blower) and fluff the areas up and blow out the dead grass.

If you don't have a heavy enough blower, then lightly rake each area.

I know you're on the north side where we had lots of snow, it's still pretty soft to get some heavy duty raking in.

Let it grow out a bit. Use some 30-0-10 and get some good N to it.

If it doesn't seem like it's coming around in 30 days, then reseed.

Our soil temps are still a little cool. Not into 100% growth yet.
