Prior Lake Bass

Anyone fish Prior lake over the weekend? I know half the state fished it Monday, but maybe I should re-phrase this... anyone from this site fishing prior over the weeekend? we made it out Monday to do some bass fishing... it was a tough bite, mostly little guys... crappies in the shallows spawning, we stopped and caught some of those, but the bass weren't cooperating very well... anyone do any good out there? I'd be interested in hearing what the bigger guys were biting on if anyone did any good... saw a few bigger bass, they seemed very lathargic... is it post spawn out there anyone know?

One more thing, anyone know where the weigh in is for that tourney this weekend on Prior? Extream bass is having a tournament, I believe Sunday... thought I might go watch the weigh in, but didn't see it mentioned where on their site...

I was out on Prior Friday and Today. Friday we were throwing Husky Jerks and caught our fair share of small walleyes and lots of tiny bass, however I did hook 2 four pound females at the same time.

Today was a different story - we caught numerous 3-5 pound bass on Wacky Rigged OutKast stick worms and texas rigged GULP Sinking Minnows. We also caught a few on Husky Jerks again. The bass are very vulerable right now so try to put everyone back in the lake to catch again.

On a side note, LOTS of nice sized crappie and sunfish were still shallow and very agressive.

your fishing that extream tournament this weekend out there I take it? if so, good luck to you. I'm not, just trying to learn that lake a little better and CPR some of those pigs... Those females you caught hadn't dropped their eggs yet I take it? The fish we did get were mostly on a bungee worm, a few on jig/pig... but, we didn't get anything of any size... Thanks for the update.

I am not fishing the Extream tournament, it is full at 43 boats. I would've liked to fish it and usually do, but I waited too long to get in. The lake is off limits for fishing for the competitors of Sunday's tournament so there should not be as much pressure on the fish. Good Luck!

Is the weigh-in at Captain Jack's, if so I might show up? I was catching bass on spinner baits yesterday, nothing to big, but fun. I tried texas rigs, but got bit off. I'll be out there this weekend to give it another try.

I think it must be at Captain Jacks, but haven't heard for sure... not listed on their HSOforum - extreambass (6:30 take-off and 2:30 weigh-in)
