deerminator
Who does it and any advice on starting out? I've got lots of info from the internet and got all the brooding supplies and the kids and I ordered 4 (2 pekin and 2 khaki Campbell - male and female each). Our next project is building them a coop and backyard run. I have an old swingset made of treated wood that could serve as the frame for a good coop but I'm wondering, is treated wood ok, even if I nail some non-treated plywood over the floor and nesting shelves/box areas. Probably over thinking that but who knows.
fishingstar
we had Dale JR Stewart and they lived in a dog house that was made out of treated plywood. They can be very friendly but very messy.Dan
deerminator
Ha! I love that commercial if you are joking about the Dale Jr. Call. I am building them something from scratch. Very much like a 4x8 deer stand but for ducks! And possibly chickens down the road. In any case, if anyone else is considering this, just Google Backyard Chickens. It's amazing the number of people on those forums and there's one for ducks. Actually went to "Tour D Cluck" at Runnings the other night. Two hours of very informational stuff from a poultry expert. Our ducks get her on the 16th of April. Have a 90 gallon stock tank in the utility room with all the supplies just waiting for them!
