live bait

Heard from a guy that was out there a while back they were having a hard time finding live bait? was wondering if this is true? And if they have bait now or is it still an issue?

Our group is going up the end of the month and we have been hearing the same thing from the local baits shops. Same with the frozen smelt, anchovies etc. If you do find a shop that has bait and wouldn't mind posting that would be great!

Just called out to a bait shop out there and they said they have bait now but have been running out on the weekends.

getting minnows has been a problem for the last 5 weeks. slews froze to the bottom in a lot of places and minnow trappers couldn't get traps in. hit and miss which bait shops have them

We were up last weekend and we stopped at Ed's baitshop just south of Devils Lake. We bought 2 scoops our first morning and that pretty much cleaned him out. He said he had more coming that afternoon, but I wouldnt wanna risk it.

If you're coming through Fargo or Grand Forks, stop there and get bait. Its not worth driving there and not having bait.
