Hummingbird I-link

I'm getting really close to pulling the trigger and buying the I-link . I'm curious for the pros and cons we cast 70 percent of the time pull spinners 20 percent and pull plugs 10 percent so I'm thinking for casting you could you the shore off set and have it maintain 7 ft and our lures should be in the strike zone that mutch more. What's your thoughts before I spend the money? Also can those Ethernet cables be made that would save $100 bucks thanks Adam

First, I don't think you can make the Ethernet cables because the ends are unique to humminbird. Second with the I link you can do everything you said. You can troll contour lines. I use it for trolling cranks, crawler harnessess, waypoint to waypoint the whole nine yards. I can't speak for everybody but for me it has made fishing much more enjoyable because nowl I spend less time worrying about boat control and I get to spend more time fishing.

I like having it. I will say that it doesn't follow the contour "great" at slow speeds, and can be frustrating at times with tight contour changes (ie might do a full U-turn following a contour line). BUT if a person was casting most of the time, it will follow the contour well enough to cast effortlessly and not have to worry about boat control as much. But I will say, the advanced (gps) auto-pilot feature on i-pilot works just as well if not better than "follow the contour". I love advanced auto-pilot and just that feature alone makes the i-pilot worth it.

I will say, the feature that I like the most with the link system is that I can cruise a shoreline and mark way points using the side imaging to detect where the fish are (works best for panfish in the spring). I can then zip from spot to spot with the link system.
