AsianSensation89
I miss my Vexilar! Called Marcum and had to leave a voicemail but I was hoping maybe I can find some answers here also. Need to fix my unit before taking the girlfriend up to Mille Lacs this weekend. Anyway, I've only taken my Lx-7 out a handful of times. First time when I took it tullibee fishing it fished fine. No issues. I did notice that the 20 degree cone didn't seem to read that well. I really had to turn up the gain even in shallow water. 2nd time I took it out I noticed that when I hole hopped, every time I changed holes my screen would glitch and flicker. With that I meant that the whole screen would quickly flicker and shift over and inch or so and then back, making it hard to read my lure. I had to sit at the hole for over 5 minutes in order for it to adjust and stop flickering. 20 degree cone still had some issues reading, even in 15 FOW. 3rd time I took it out I updated it to the newest firmware posted on January 20th (hoping it would resolve the issue). Fished fine for the first few hours. And then the screen started to freeze (like how a computer does). The screen froze to the point where I couldn't manually power off my unit holding the power button. I had to master reset my unit by unplugging the power cord attached to the battery. Kept playing with my unit and noticed that whenever I tried to switch over to the 8 degree cone, my unit would quickly start to glitch and then freeze, forcing me to master reset my unit. However, when fishing the 20 degree cone it fished fine. No glitches. Made it awfully frustrating because I couldn't fish in 20+ FOW without having major disturbance. Any ideas on what's wrong with my unit? Did I get a lemon? I have never spent so much time in my life pushing buttons instead of fishing. Very frustrating. fishwater
Sounds like something is bad. Double check your battery, then call & email Marcum. If you're reasonably close, I'd just drive over with the unit in hand.
