Did Ice Castle eliminate trailer brakes on 2014 models?

I just bought a 2014 IC Spirit. My friend has a 2013 Spirit and they are pretty identical. I was looking at his yesterday and he has a small battery box on the front of his house on the V for the trailer brakes and a safety cord in case the house comes off the hitch it will lock the brakes up. My 2014 model does not have this feature.

Does anybody know why?
