Marcum software updates 4.07 and 2.31 are available! Update is live via download for LX6, LX7 and (2.31) for LX9 via Marcum's HSOforum. http://marcum.com/upgrades/

This new version (4.07) will update your Marcum to the most current system performance improvements.

Manual Dynamic Range – Adjustable in one-foot increments.

Transducer offset added in one-inch increments.

Default to 6 color mode.

From what i understand on the offset is it is designed to offset the length the transducer is hanging in the hole. If your ducer is 18" below the top of the ice you can offset the length so you get an accurate depth reading.

I wish they could figure out what to tell people when the file will not load. Last time I had had to take the unit back to the shop I bought it and did it on their computer. Took less than 5 minutes when it works right.

The link above fisherman-andy listed should be: m a r c u m t e c h not just marcum

The ' system ' on this board is messing with the name.

Just unpacked my new LX6 and I'm waiting for the battery to charge to load the update.

Your correct, I originally copy and pasted it. But HSO does not allow the link and changes it to marcum.com/upgrades instead of m a r c u m t e c h . c o m/upgrades

To reconfirm I copy and pasted it again and same results. See below. Do not use that link. Just go to Marcum's HSOforum instead manually.

Updated the LX 7 today. Took about 20 minutes of fiddling around. My system kept telling me it couldn't open the .bin file downloaded from Marcum. After retrying several times we got it to work.

If I could remember the exact process of what we did to make it happen I would list the steps here but I'm not sure exactly what I did to make it work. You know how that is with computer stuff. confused

Just finished updating my LX6, from start to finish, it took roughly 5 minutes if you follow the online or video instructions, very easy.

Now I've gotta find time to get out on the lake and put it to work!

A few days ago I messed around with one of the copies that was floating around the net and had the same trouble with my computer not wanting to open the .bin file. I finally figured out that it doesn't have to open the file. You're just transferring it from the download to the LX7. Once I realized that it was quite easy. I just spent more time going to the basement to get my flasher than I did updating it from the Marcum site.

Tried out the LX-7 update for awhile yesterday. Only complaints I have is sensitivity seems a bit much and when changing manual dynamic depth I still get the black triangle in bottom read out. Once it is set it seemed to work perfect. Even the lines on graph mode quit flashing on and off like they did before update.

    • Yeah it was a beatdown
    • Your kid needs to stay with him!👍
    • My kid was eating in Beverly Hills and ran into this guy. Talked to him a bit and wished him luck in the game tonight.
    • 🤔as a recovering machinist!🤣🤣that must make me a recovering welder!
    • As a recovering machinist, I can appreciate that.  If the spec is 0.001 - 0.0015, then clearly the correct measurement is 0.00125, duh…
    • I just figured that it is easy enough to just get a 3 bank so when the boat is not in use I can keep all 3 batteries charged. I have not bough a charger yet, maybe I will give it some more thought. Edit: After thinking this over, with the size, weight, and heat output of the charger (as well as the cost) I think it makes sense to just buy a 2 bank charger, I have a smaller charger i can use on the starting battery when the boat is sitting at home. Forgive me, for i am a retired engineer and I have to obsess over everything...
    • Congrats on the motor!  I think you’ll like it.   I can’t say much on the charger location but I’ve seen them under the lid in back compartments and under center rod lockers.  160 degrees is more than I expected to hear.   Curious why you’re opting for a 3 bank charger with a 24V trolling motor.  Unless you don’t feel you be running you big motor enough to keep that battery up as well?
    • I did buy an Minnkota Ulterra, thanks for the recommendations. I had a bunch of Cabela"s bucks saved up, which helped. Now i need to get an onboard battery charger. Where do you guys mount these things in your boat? The manufacturer I am looking at {Noco genius) says tht their 3-bank charger will run at 160 degrees, seems like a lot of heat in an enclosed compartment? Thanks for any input on this.
    • You're very lucky a troop of Sea Monkey's didn't carry you away.
    • Wasn't terrible at a state park beach. Antelope island maybe.  I wouldn't recommend it as a beach destination tho.  Figured I was there, I'm getting in it.
