Has anyone ever fished for Smallmouth at night?
Last weekend I was in the Park Rapids area and I was fishing for walleyes on a shallow flat. We couldn't but help notice all the big Smallmouth on the flat as the sun went down. We managed to catch and release one that was 7 lbs!

Congratulations on a great catch and a great release!
Smallmouth like largemouth are very active at night, especially when it has been hot like it has. Check out the other night time bass post for some tips. They will work for smallies too.
