question on a strike master laser bit.

hunter322

Question

I bout a used 9" 3 blade laser bit on hsolist. I have a 2hp mag 2000 power head. The first time I tried this bit it didn't cut every well, but it did cut. My chipper bit cut better. My question is, is my power head to weak to run this bit or could it be the blades are at a bad pitch or what? The blades feel sharp. Thanks!

you are probably right about the pitch being off. the reason these 3 blade 9" models were discontinued is because of the pitch being off and the lack of blades out there for them. they are getting hard to find. you are money ahead if you just get a lazer drill unit or stay with your existing chipper that you have. the lazers are nice but the blades get dinged easily if you are drilling on dirty ice. the chipper is slower but is more forgiving on what you can drill through.
