GoPro Hero 3 Black Plus Will Not Stay Connected to Samsung Galaxy S3

Hello all,

Since many of us uses a GoPro for ice fishing, I thought I would ask my question on the Ice Forum.

I recently bought my GoPro Black Plus edition for a few days, and I cannot get it to work right with my Samsung Galaxy S3. It works alright with my wife's Iphone 5 though.

My phone will not stay connected to the GoPro's WiFi unless if I switch it to Airplane mode. I also cannot view my videos and pictures using the App unless if Airplane Mode is on and I click into the Gopro to control it using the App then view the pictures and videos on the disk. This is really a nuisance.

I saw on the Gopro site , it listed something regarding Airplane mode for apps, but I checked my phone and the settings does not seem to apply for me.

Anybody have experience with this? I have updated my Gopro as well as reformatted the disk. I have also contacted GoPro but it takes FOREVER for them to reply back and we seem to be getting no where.

did you do the firmware update from the go pro site?

I had issues with my S3 as well as my ipad and then I did some updates to my gopro3 and it has worked fine since.

Yeps, tried doing the update n still having issues. I found out it will work alright under Airplane mode, just would not connect if not in Airplane mode.
