Bullhead Bob
My first time out last weekend, and had to bust my way out Sat. night. Door was iced up around the frame. took everything I had to push the door open. Sun. a.m. came back out, and even worse. Thought I was going to tear the doorknob off before it opened. Weatherstripping is shredded, will have to scrape it off the door and frame. Called Ice Castle, their response was "Yeah, we use RV doors, so can be a problem in cold weather with metal on metal" (Thought I bought a winter toy???)I asked for a solution, and he said coat the door jamb and door edge with WD-40. Not real happy with their non answer. Anyone else have this door issue?
cam7069
Yes I have the same issue when temp is 10 or below. I have found that if you wipe the door with a towel it doesn't freeze.

Eric Wettschreck
After you replace the weather stripping, try smearing some Low-Vac grease on the stripping. I don't have an Ice Castle but this worked for my home made shack door.
Bullhead Bob
Thanks Guys, House was about 60 when it froze up. I will try cracking a window slightly. also the grease idea.
FishFindHer
We had the same issue this past weekend. Opening a window a bit seems to help. We'll try the Wd-40 too.
outkast7222
Ditch the foam seal and buy a good rubber seal from Lowes or Depot and never worry about it again.
FIRECAT
Me to, I use silicone spray, also got a spray can of de-icer in the pickup.
Bryce
Firecat has my idea. Two cans of de-icer in my house. One for my door and or locks. One to trade for beer. In the pickup would probably be a smarter idea for one of the cans. You guys had to be dealing with actual temps pushing the -30 mark out on the ice. Not uncommon at all to have ice issues no matter what you do.

my4x4yj
I do the wd-40 liberally on a paper towel and wipe both the door and seal. I also do this on my vehicle doors and they won't freeze shut either. Do it every few days to keep it fresh.
BiggerJigger
They all will freeze when its toasty inside and minus 0 outside. Silicone spray works great.
