gps reception through plastic roof?

GPS signals will go through most plastic but there will be some signal loss. As long as there is no metal embeded in the plastic it should work ok. In my line of work we often have GPS antennas enclosed in plastic boxes to protect them from salt water and this works fine. Simple way to check is to just power up the GPS with the antenna where you are thinking of mounting it and see what kind of signal stength you have on the GPS receiver.

Tempory wire it.Give it a try.also if it mounted low the sats arent all up high some are toward the horizion and mounting low will get them. But temp it in and try different locations till you get the best reception. Then make it permenent.
