someone told me the carp action was hot and heavy there late in the season last year- might have been Sept. or Oct., I can't remember exactly

I want to give it a try this fall and will report back here

as the water temps drop in the main river the powerplant will be a great spot for all species.

ive caught everything that swims in the river at the powerplant. being on the criox u can have 2rods have fun and let us know how u do

FYI,

it can be a zoo dwn there at times, shoulder to shoulder if the fish are biting

FshBloodRiverMud, any indication of carp, drum or cats?

I wanna do some bottom fishing and drink beer

also, I've noticed that people have commented on this forum that we can use two poles there because it's border waters, but the way I read the MN regs, we have to still stick to our more restrictive one-pole rule even on the border waters- anyone know what the real deal is?

could I get a ticket at the Stillwater plant for having 2 poles?

I been there this weekend for first time .. didnt find the place firstly and ended up at boat launch nearby .. fished for few hrs and manage to get a small cat ~2 lb.

On my way back spend time again and found the place its exactly next to main entrance to the plant smile

the place was too crowded - seen people fishing with 3 rods one guy had 4 laugh saw a bunch of fish with him -still in water he tied them ... all smallies pan/sunnie bullheads few cats ~2 lb range and few carp abt 3 lb range.

that was it the water is very low at outlet .. tons of asian guys /families/kids .. fire around some were cooking some stuff some i guess were burning smoke to keep away mosquitos .

At this time think its a place to catch something there if you not particular of what fish and what size you after and can bear up with mess people putting there...

I not plan to go back there anytime soon on a good sunny day ...

Love to hear if anyone has a better place for Carp at this time...

St Croix river is TWO LINES. (Where it is a border water)

You can fish the WISCONSIN SIDE OF THE RIVER WITH 3 LINES.

(This applies for the St Croix and Mississippi where bordering wisconsin)

You'll certainly catch drum, small cats, gar, carp, etc in there. Don't be afraid to walk up/down the shoreline for more fishing opportunities. Anywhere on the breakline there is a good place to wet a line.

There wasn't much action happening. There were some bluegill and little bass, but not much. Then again, I wasn't entirely thinking about fishing while I was there. Did see a couple blowups at the surface from what appeared to be smallmouths.
