JollyJoker
Has anybody heard about any changes for this year on the Ion auger. Just wondering if they addressed the "must keep the battery 40 degrees" or changed the safty switch to make it easy to use. I don't see anything new on there HSOforum. Thanks
JollyJoker
I guess with no response, it mean nothing has/will change and Ion has no fix for these problems? Going to have to wait to get a new Ion.Thanks

Whether they redesigned the switch or not, I've no guess.

aanderud
I was told they changed the battery from last year, as to what they did to it im not sure. All I'm saying is that they're not a battery company -- they're buying batteries from someone, and there weren't any major breakthrough battery technologies delivered to mainstream in the last year. So, while they could possibly have seen a slight performance gain by going from some cheap crummy battery to something higher-end, unless they added a heater there's likely still going to be cold-weather performance issues. It might "work" when cold, but it'll still work much better and longer when warm.
