BryanL
I'm thinking right now my lack of deer sightings is in direct correlation to all the corn still up on two sides of the wood lot I hunt. I have two stands set up on either side of a crick running through the wood lot to hit differing wind directions. Corn is still up to the south and to the east. I'm thinking tonight I need to get on the field edge and shake things up with the east wind keeping me out of my typical stands. Hope to see something tonight. My question is, once the corn is down, where will the deer prefer to feed? I have a huge harvested bean field to the north with alfalfa strip planted near it and then corn on two other sides. Do deer have a preference when everything is harvested? Second question would be if anyone has any tips on hunting the field edge tonight. Will be an east wind and field edge runs east to west. Rattle, grunt, call, decoy?
RangerJack
Once the corn is combined, they still are in the corn fields until all of the waste corn is eaten..I shined over 50 deer in recently combined corn fields last night.
